Overview
Khustai nature reserve is two hour drive away from Ulaanbaatar, the capital and it is a homeland of wild horses, Takhi. Also there are dozens of wild animals as red deer, wolf, fox, marmot and wonderful burial site with standing stones as well as a magnificent deer stone. You will find yourself in stunning beautiful landscape where you’ll have a chance to see these amazing creatures grazing in the mountains as you get out of your vehicle.
Day 1: In the morning we will hit the road to the nature reserve. When we get there you will get brief introduction to the area and its wildlife. After having a hearty lunch in fine restaurant you will be taken into heart of the nature reserve where you will find wonderful burial site with a magnificent deer stone. In the late afternoon we will enjoy the quietness and breathtaking scenery of the park while seeing the Takhi and red deer. Also, you can witness the marmots playing around or fighting each other before we finish the day. Have fine dish with warm conversation and experience Mongolian summer night in traditional dwelling, ger.
Day 2: After fresh local breakfast you will take a horse riding in vast open steppe where you will find only your shadows, and maybe a herd of horses. After lunch we will head back to Ulaanbaatar.

She did horse riding on the tereji tour, which was good.
Happy to recommend for other travellers.
Only thing to watch for is that museum is closed on a Sunday so better to do the city tour another day.

Booked a 7 day gobi tour. Bagage came a day after, so we had to reschedule. That was no problem, solved our problems. Baaska (guide) and Munkhuu (driver) did not... read more only took us to the beautifull landscapes in Mongolia, but also were great company, all day long. We played cards, did karaoke, sung all day after the radio broke down. We even had the luck to experience a real mongolian birthday in one of the Gerstays! Thanks to them we had the full experience!
