In the morning we will hit the road to the Bogd khan national park. When we get there, visit a local museum and get an introduction of the park and its wildlife.
After visiting the museum start hiking to Bogd khan mountain peak, 2268m above sea level. Have a hearty lunch on top of the mountain while overlooking most of Ulaanbaatar and its beautiful surroundings as well. In the afternoon visit an old charming temple Manzushir. The monastery is located in the foot of Bogd Khan Mountain. The construction of the monastery began in 1730s and got extended until the 20th century when it was destroyed due to Stalin’s purge. During that time, there were approximately 21 temples and more than 500 monks. In 1998, the building and ruins were taken under state protection. Today “Lavrin” temple which was restored after democratic revolution, is used as a museum and there is a huge bronze pot made for cooking for 1000 monks. Finally enjoy the quietness and breathtaking scenery of the park. Also, you will witness the marmots playing or fighting with each other before we finish the day.

We did an 8 day Gobi tour with Nyamka and a 10 day North Mongolia tour with his brother Baaska. Both of them are very nice, considerate and good hearted... read more people. The tours were well organised and we had a great time. Nyamka speaks excellent English and provides interesting cultural and historical information about Mongolia. Baaska is so sweet that threw a small surpise birthday party for us 🙂 Their tours are flexible and custom made. Highly recommended!!

We travelled with... read more True Mongolia Travel and the manager Nyamko was our tourguide - from day one. He is professional, english speaking and so NICE, cool and easy going. Write him on this adress: freelance.guide.mongolia@gmail.com - and I'm sure you will be able to plan an extraordinary trip with him. I wrote mails with him before I arrived in Mongolia, and then we met when we arrived in Ulan Bator.
